The Four Noble Truths

A body of clinical research mapped onto the Four Noble Truths — from understanding suffering to the path that brings it to an end. Each title links to its published abstract.

Dr Tan Seng Beng

Dr Tan Seng Beng is a Consultant Palliative Medicine Physician at Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Malaysia. His work sits at the meeting point of clinical care, contemplative practice, and the written word.

"The trilobite did not know it was ancient. It simply lived — eyes open to every direction, sensing the world through its whole body."

He is the author of The Little Handbook of Palliative Care and multiple works on suffering, well-being, and mindfulness. His YouTube channel Mindfulness in Palliative Care brings contemplative practice to clinicians, patients, and caregivers worldwide.

His approach is shaped by Buddhist teachers including Thich Nhat Hanh, the Dalai Lama, and Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche — always offered in a secular, universally accessible register.
